CYO at St. Bartholomew

Sportsmanship is an important aspect of a St. Bartholomew School education. Athletics provide our students, parishioners, and their families the opportunity to pursue authentic teamwork, competition, and fair play.

We encourage you to participate on our many CYO teams when they are in season, including soccer, basketball, track, softball/baseball, or cross country.

Check our CYO website regularly for updates or e-mail the St. Bartholomew School CYO parent ambassador, Mr. James Strother, with questions about our team programs.

Physical Education

Physical Education is very important to a child's growth and overall health. The goal at St. Bartholomew School is to help children find a variety of ways to enjoy being physically active so that they will be able to get all of the physical, emotional, intellectual and social benefits that come to someone who is physically active. Each day we will be focusing on different skills, sports, and games to foster an active and positive environment.

Children are at different developmental levels, with a variety of needs and interests. For this reason,  all of the children are provided with experiences that are both beneficial and enjoyable. Each lesson is also adjusted to take into account the wide range of skill and fitness levels that characterizes children at this age level.

Extracurricular Sports & Activities

90% of students at St. Bartholomew School engage in after school sports.  Whether they are playing for our CYO teams, or for an outside club team, sports play an important role in what our students enjoy doing in their non-academic time.

Our students play sports with various organizations, including AAU basketball teams, KOA baseball and flag football, Maplewood Football,

MC Elite Lacrosse, Potomac Power Lax, BCC Baseball, and NCAP Swim Club to name a few.  Students are also able to participate in after school sports on campus with CYO teams, HoodEd, Mini Sparts & Tennis Central, XCEL Youth Sports, and the Montgomery Sports Association.
