ATHLETICS AND CYO

CYO at St. Bartholomew

Sportsmanship is an important aspect of a St. Bartholomew School education. Athletics provide our students, parishioners, and their families the opportunity to pursue authentic teamwork, competition, and fair play.

All youth at Saint Bartholomew Parish are invited to join a variety of sports organized in cooperation with the Archdiocese of Washington CYO.  Athletics at St. Bart's is a volunteer-supported program and is made possible s by the generous volunteers who offer their time and knowledge.  Please consider becoming a volunteer for one of our teams.

Teams are generally organized by date of birth, and offerings may vary based on season and interest.

Physical Education

Physical Education is very important to a child's growth and overall health. The goal at St. Bartholomew School is to help children find a variety of ways to be physically active so that they enjoy all of the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social benefits that come to someone who is physically active. Each day we focus on different skills, sports, and games to foster an active and positive environment.

Children are at different developmental levels, with a variety of needs and interests. For this reason, all of the children are provided with experiences that are both beneficial and enjoyable. Each lesson accounts for the wide range of skill and fitness levels that characterizes children at this age level.

Extracurricular Sports & Activities

A variety of athletics programming is available after school for students as young as PK3.  Outside vendors include Xcel Fitness & Youth Sports, Tennis Central, and others.  All vendors are required to comply with the insurance and child protection requirements of the Archdiocese of Washington.
