SAFETY & SECURITY

Safety and security for the children and our staff on campus is a priority at all times.  St. Bartholomew Parish recently underwent a review of safety measures and completed a comprehensive capital improvement plan.  The campus currently utilizes more than 20 security cameras spread throughout the campus indoor and outdoor spaces.  Self-locking security doors are in place on our campus, and exterior doors are remotely monitored and locked.

Children are supervised at all times while on campus as they move between classrooms and buildings.  Teachers and staff regularly engage in various drills, including fire drills, shelter in place drills, and evacuation drills.  These drills are practiced monthly to ensure that procedures are not only properly followed, but also to make students and teachers comfortable and confident with the process.

All volunteers on campus, including parents, are required to go through the Diocese VIRTUS training.   VIRTUS training includes classroom time, as well as fingerprinting and background checks.  St. Bartholomew School follows all ADW guidelines with regards to this mandatory safety requirement.

We continue to monitor our procedures and policies to make sure that, when your child is on campus, they are in a safe and secure environment at all times.  Our teachers regularly train for emergency situations and maintain that preparedness through out the year.  If you have any questions about our campus security, please feel free to contact the school office.
